George Britt

George William Hughes Britt (1895 - February 4, 1988)[1] was a New York journalist and writer for the New York World-Telegram and later for The New York Post. He was the author of The Fifth Column is Here (1940).

During World War II he worked for the U.S. Office of War Information. He was employed in their Overseas Operations Branch in Beirut and Istanbul.

George Britt was originally from Centerville, Pennsylvania. He attended Trinity College in Durham, North Carolina.[2] He married Ethel Bowser (1898-1979); they had two children.[3]
