American Press Association

The American Press Association was founded by Major Orlando J. Smith, R. W. Nelson and George W. Cummings in Chicago in August 1882.[1] The group provided plates and ready-to-print material to small papers across the country.

The American Press Association was later absorbed by the Western Newspaper Union.
