Hello Gunther, I tried repair some of the damage done. I also deleated some junk, banned two users and protected the main page and some it's templates (About Metapedia, The development of Metapedia, Quick links, and Portals). -- Doktor Faustus 28 July 2007

I will help for 2 weeks; then i have to concentrate on work and family and you will only see me every 3 weeks or so. -- Micha van den Berg

Thanks for making the Troll Template. I was planning on making one. -- Doktor Faustus 1 August 2007

We are being vandalised by two different people, make sure you check all the newly created articles for vandalism. -- M.1712

I'll be back from my vacation tomorrow. Great to see that you are all doing well. I should have some time to work with the international/english Metapedia in the next week. --Günther 00:07, 9 August 2007 (CEST)

Hey mate. I'm back. Lost my ISP for 3 weeks. Good to see we're not vandalized too much. CHM8318

Vandalisms

Is there the possibility to block IPs directly? Just find out where that moron is and block all IPs of his town. Bh3u4m 18:54, 11 August 2007 (CEST)

Open proxy IPs should be blocked in order to avoid vandalisms. Bh3u4m 19:01, 11 August 2007 (CEST)

As it happens, yes there is. It won't, however, do you the slightest bit of good, as we're using proxies - blocking all of them will be very hard, nay, even fruitless.. -Wheels within Wheels 19:02, 11 August 2007 (CEST)
This guy reminds me of that comic book store guy in the Simpsons. I'm going to add some proxy filters tomorrow. --Günther 01:37, 12 August 2007 (CEST)
Furze identified as troll too. I did replace some of the deleted articles and the Eureka Flag picture. -- Doktor Faustus 12 August 2007

We got hit last night. About 100 or so articles have been moved to stupid names, like Europe moved to Europe loves men. I went through most articles but you may want to check your watched items.CHM8318

After the vandalism me and Bh3u4m were wondering what measures may be taken to prevent new members, from Moving items, and deleting them? Currently, perhaps we should maybe change the Protection on articles already created? CHM8318

I think I have a solution: I suggest to create some groups of users called checkedusers, or userlevel1, userlevel2 etc... and edit LocalSettings.php to set permissions as expounded here, have also a look on how to create new groups and set right permissions [1]
Something like this is necessary: Bh3u4m 11:34, 8 October 2007 (CEST)
$wgGroupPermissions[* ]['move'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['move'] = false;
Please check if they are right

On Friday night we got hit again by silly red vandals. They somehow managed to edit Protected pages. Are the settings for protecting pages correct? CHM8318 -October 20 2007 04:22 (GMT)

Wikislavia

Maybe this will be interesting for you

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Spam_blacklist#Wikislavia

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Yann#A_question_about_adding_Wikislavia_to_spam_list

This Rombik is social-democratic homosexual known for his attacks on our friends in ruwiki, and now he organized this company for include Wikislavia (actually part of Metapedia) in spam-list of Wikipedia in general. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 06:06, 19 August 2007 (CEST)

Castles

I'm going to start a Category on Castles of the United Kingdom. I have spent a better part of 2 years traveling the UK and think its a great part of our Norman,Celtic,Roman,Druid,Viking,Saxon history. Perhaps we can merge the Castles to a sub category of the Britsh category, or just keep it as its own until it get big enough to break into seperate Counties, Ie:West Yorkshire,Scotland,Wales etc? Let me know what you think.

Alright. Instead of breaking down into Counties, maybe when the time comes we can just do it by Country.

I have started a English category instead of placing historical items in the British category, due to the fact back then they never referred themselves as being British, but calling themselves English. Perhaps in time we can clean up the British category of anything not related to before, 1700? User:CHM8318

Template

I agree that a new Template for newly copied Wiki articles is a great idea. I get a lot of my info and articles from Wikipedia, more so the old English stuff, it's not PC and historically correct. Let me know if you create a new Template and I will go around and clean my articles up. I'm also working on a France article. Seems to me that new users are getting into the modern NS articles so I'm going to stick to Ancient England and Europe.

What's the PC stand for? Politcally Correct? heh

That name works fine mate. CHM8318

Protocols

Thanks, although I'm not too sure if there is such a thing as a "neutral point of view". I guess that as long as we don't throw around slurs like "anti-semitic" and aim for an encyclopaedic tone things should be okay. Hoder 21:15, 4 September 2007 (CEST)

WWII

I had a look at the World War II article, all the pictures are skrewed up. I attempted to fix it, but I suspect the pics themselves were uploaded wrong. How can I find out who did the article, so I may see what they did wrong? CHM8318

I like your work with The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. It's important that our articles are written in a neutral tone such as yours. --Günther 22:38, 28 August 2007 (CEST)

Yes, it is great news. Me and NatAll have been creating a few articles over the night.heh Good to see it's growing! 8318

Hi there

I'm new to the site, and I couldn't determine whether or not Metapedia enforces ideological restrictions when it comes to new users registering. I do not agree with most of what is espoused at Metapedia, but I came anyways. Could you point me to the "rules", per se? --Hojimachong 08:12, 13 November 2007 (CET)

Prevent edits from newly created users

I suggest to prevent every kind of article editing to newly created users. There are ways they can suggest edits without being able to do so, I saw them implemented on wikipedia to cope with Chinese censorship. We should allow newly created users to suggest edits, these suggestions should then be processed by admins. Please let me know if you are interested, and I'll try to make a PHP code to prevent this problem. Bh3u4m 14:25, 11 December 2007 (CET)

remote ADDING

We have a problem mate. When User:Ratatosk is remote adding on articles, they aren't checked before doing so. Last night 75 articles were vandalized by NGFF before remote Adding was implied, now I can not rollback some of the articles. Hermann Göring article was very long and in depth same with Henry Ford. Is there a way to fix this remote adding bug?

Adolf Hitler article is royally screwed up. CHM8318

2000th Article

We're fast approaching our 2000th English article, we currently sit at 1,992. I think it's time to add it the main page!

"Open Proxies" Question

One of the reasons I don't edit very much is that I'm away from my primary internet connection a lot of the time and end up using a variety of public wireless networks. For this reason, I never know when I'm going to run afoul of the "open proxies" rule, so I play it safe by only logging in from connections I'm familiar with. But something I've never understood is whether the rule applies only to account creation, or to all editing. Can you clarify this matter for me? Scrivener 17:08, 20 April 2008 (CEST)

Unprotection request

Hi, I'd like to update Shane Ruttle Martinez but can't because it's protected until 2012! I'm wondering if you could please unprotect the article so I can add material. The article's original editor doesn't appear to be active anymore. Thanks. MetaMan 07:07, 14 March 2009 (CET)

Macedonian (!!!) Metapedia

We were SO SURPRISED recently to see a "Macedonian" Metapedia site!!!!!! I could not believe my eyes!!!!! FOR GOD'S AEK!!!! I AM SURE YOU KNOW HISTORY!!!! OR ELSE HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINDS? THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!

There is NO Macedonian language. Macedonians was and still speak Greek. Please read history.

The people of Skopije speaks a Slavic Bulgarian idioma.

Please don't help this UNBELIVABLE disinformation. Support the Greek struggle to defend our heritage and history from this people who HAVE STOLEN our name and history. They are puppets of the forces who want to strike Greece like Serbia. Please. Defend the logic and right. Even Wikipedia tries not to allow such lies and disinformation.

There is only one Macedonia. This state has nothing to do with Macedonia. Was called Vardarska!!! Communist Tito created this fake Macedonian state because he wanted to clame Greek territories! Even Macedonia is a Greek word for for God's aek!!!! Please kick this scums out of Metapedia. They have never been allowed to use our National identity. NEVER.

Macedonia is Greece

Macedonians are only Greeks

Ancient Macedonians was speaking Greek

Ancient Macedonians was a Greek Tribe

Aristotle was a Greek, Alexander the Great was a Greek

Modern Macedonians are only Greeks

Please respect our Nation.

Respect history.

Respect the truth.

Kosovo is Serbia - Macedonia is Greece

These states are run by USA and Turkey against our Nations. They are states "made in USA".

We urge you to respect the historical truth. These people decided to call themselves "Macedonians" only the last decades for political reasons. Only WE are Macedonians from ever and ever. -- Heretical 28 August 2010 (Hellenic Metapedia[2])
