Style guide

Please see Metapedia:Style guide.

Suitable topics

Not all topics are suitable for Metapedia. Please see Metapedia:Content guidelines.

Wikipedia articles

  • To simply copy-and-paste Wikipedia articles to Metapedia is in general discouraged. If the topic is suitable for Metapedia, then the Wikipedia article is often biased and needs editing.
  • If you do import text from Wikipedia, please add wikipedia at the end of the article you are editing. Add wikipedia PC to the top of the article if you think that part of its content is biased and should be rewritten. This should preferably by done immediately by the person importing the text.

Categories

  • Please add categories to each new page using . Biographical articles, for example, often need categories regarding the topic they deal with, their nationality and their birth year and death year. For instance, for a Dutch philologer born in 1624 and deceased in 1699 add: . Even a bad category is better than no category (a bad one can be modified at any time later).
  • In Wikipedia articles there are sometimes sadly dozens of categories added, which Metapedia does not have, and which are often not helpful in Metapedia. Please think about whether a category is useful, and when it is, look which categories Metapedia does have, and when Metapedia does not have a useful category you want to use, you can create it and categorize the category itself. A simple way is clicking on unknown (red tinted) categories at the end of your articles you think to be expedient and to add them.

Copyright

  • Do not import copyrighted texts from other sites whose copyright you do not hold and avoid uploading copyrighted images.

Images

  • When uploading images, write a short description in the summary box; typically it is recommendable to describe the sources, for example including an entitled link or bibliographical information. You can also add an image copyright code. Such as image for Metapedia image (no copyright information) and PD image for Public domain image. See Help for more information.

Template and signing

Per firmare.PNG
  • Use the template on the upper left side of the editing window, that increases work speed. On the picture the arrow points to the sign button, the other buttons are helpful, too. Talk pages comments should be signed. It is also possible to sign using ~~~~

Your posts

Welcome to the English-language Metapedia. It is important for you to examine some of the various posts and to use the correct formats. In addition you must provide proper and credible sources. Take a look at Treaty of Versailles. Here you will get some ideas on layouts etc, sources and categories. Don't just start a page with a single line and leave it for others to do the work, as in White Lives Matter. I would also point out that contrary to what the Far-Left say about Metapedia, we are not a National Socialist site. Anything we post on this period is for historical purposes, not promotion. Thanks. Article on White Argentinians

Hi, I'm new here and since you are Argentine, you may guide me. I have an article almost finished on the White population of Argentina. Their demographic importance, and their influence on Argentine culture, music, sports, etc.

It is well referenced, for I was editing it in Wikipedia, but some users started accusing it of Original research, and placed a template on it. As in the article I wrote lists of notable White Argentines -I was careful to include only Argentinians with unmistakeable Caucasian phenotype- then they also accused it of violation of Biographies of Living People policy (Is that policy applied here?); they said that unless a reliable source stated explicitly that "Juan Pérez is a White Argentine", the names must be removed from the article. Now I abandoned the article in WP; they are tearing it to pieces, erasing photos, maps, etc.

If the idea is well accepted here, I can add articles on the other White communities scattered around the world: White American, White Canadian, White Brazilian, White South African, White Australian, etc. Ah, one more thing: in the article I consider all the European/Caucasus ethnic groups residing in Argentina all together, but I also consider the Arabs and Ashkenazi Jews as "Whites". Is that against the policy of this site? If it is so, please forgive me.

I also want to add that I am not racist in any way, but this is a moment in which all of us Argentinians who are proud of our European ancestry are forced to hide it so not to be called "racists".--Parmeggiani 01:14, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
