Metapedia 209x107.jpg

Hello Adalsyssler, and welcome to Metapedia! Please provide a brief statement of your interest in Metapedia here on your talk page.

You may find some help about how to get started and some hints about how you can help the project in the Community portal. Also see the Help and Copyright pages for more information. Enjoy your stay and feel free to ask an Administrator for help if you have any questions.

Style guide

Please see Metapedia:Style guide.

Suitable topics

Not all topics are suitable for Metapedia. Please see Metapedia:Content guidelines.

Wikipedia articles

  • To simply copy-and-paste Wikipedia articles to Metapedia is in general discouraged. If the topic is suitable for Metapedia, then the Wikipedia article is often biased and needs editing.
  • If you do import text from Wikipedia, please add wikipedia at the end of the article you are editing. Add wikipedia PC to the top of the article if you think that part of its content is biased and should be rewritten. This should preferably by done immediately by the person importing the text.

Categories

  • Please add categories to each new page using . Biographical articles, for example, often need categories regarding the topic they deal with, their nationality and their birth year and death year. For instance, for a Dutch philologer born in 1624 and deceased in 1699 add: . Even a bad category is better than no category (a bad one can be modified at any time later).
  • In Wikipedia articles there are sometimes sadly dozens of categories added, which Metapedia does not have, and which are often not helpful in Metapedia. Please think about whether a category is useful, and when it is, look which categories Metapedia does have, and when Metapedia does not have a useful category you want to use, you can create it and categorize the category itself. A simple way is clicking on unknown (red tinted) categories at the end of your articles you think to be expedient and to add them.

Copyright

  • Do not import copyrighted texts from other sites whose copyright you do not hold and avoid uploading copyrighted images.

Images

  • When uploading images, write a short description in the summary box; typically it is recommendable to describe the sources, for example including an entitled link or bibliographical information. You can also add an image copyright code. Such as image for Metapedia image (no copyright information) and PD image for Public domain image. See Help for more information.

Template and signing

Per firmare.PNG
  • Use the template on the upper left side of the editing window, that increases work speed. On the picture the arrow points to the sign button, the other buttons are helpful, too. Talk pages comments should be signed. It is also possible to sign using ~~~~

Your posts

Welcome to the English-language Metapedia. It is important for you to examine some of the various posts and to use the correct formats. In addition you must provide proper and credible sources. Take a look at Treaty of Versailles. Here you will get some ideas on layouts etc, sources and categories. Don't just start a page with a single line and leave it for others to do the work, as in White Lives Matter. I would also point out that contrary to what the Far-Left say about Metapedia, we are not a National Socialist site. Anything we post on this period is for historical purposes, not promotion. Thanks. Hello

Hello, I enjoy very much your articles. Are you an Estonian? Hu1 20:36, 12 September 2009 (CEST)

Hello! Yes, I'm Estonian and I live in Tartu. Adalsyssler 21:02, 12 September 2009 (CEST)

Nice to meet you. I am Hungarian, and I am administrator of the English and also of the Hungarian metapedia. I translated some of your artcles to Hungarian today ( 20. Waffen-SS division, Forest brothers ) Why do not you start up the Estonian Metapedia? It is easy, just write to the Swedish admin's, you get your Uid/pwd, and you can continue. If you have about 2-300 articles, they put it online. I tried to inform Estonian newsgroups about metapedia some time ago, but I got no echo at that time. Hu1 22:08, 12 September 2009 (CEST)

I'd also like to welcome you to Metapedia. I am a Canadian user. I enjoy seeing some articles regarding Estonia! Keep up the good work!

Do you need these, or may I delete them? Thanks, Hu1 11:48, 15 October 2009 (CEST)

I think I can find some use for them in future. Is the policy of the Metapedia to delete all images that doesn't appear in any article? Adalsyssler 17:04, 15 October 2009 (CEST)

Since there were a number of unused images, I deleted most of them, or added them to existing pages. However, for these I could not find any fitting article. If you say, you can use them later, that's OK, I have no problem with that. Simple users can not delete, therefore I ask. It is also a kind of spamming, to add unused images (we had such spammers in the past). If you add at upload time some remark for images, you can not use immediately, that makes easier to find out, why it is uploaded (best the future article title or subject). Thanks. Hu1 17:26, 15 October 2009 (CEST)

Understood. Adalsyssler 20:12, 15 October 2009 (CEST)

Stages & theatre

I changed the title of Mediterranean, Middle East and African theatres of World War II to Mediterranean, Middle East and African stages of World War II. Not sure, if I am right, just a feeling (that I also verified in Google, and therefore I believe it), that the word theatre means only the place, where actors play, and stage means the location, where something took place. If you think, I am incorrect, please let me know. Thanks. Hu1 03:28, 9 January 2010 (CST)

Theatre is also a specific geographical area of conduct of armed conflict, see at Wikipedia. But stage fits too to that article's title, I think. Adalsyssler 09:12, 9 January 2010 (CST)

Thanks. I shall never know English perfectly (and lot of other languages). Hu1 04:00, 10 January 2010 (CST)

Estonian metapedia

I added this to nordisk.nu forum: (http://www.nordisk.nu/showthread.php?t=48624)

Security of Estonian Metapedia is unsatisfactory. An attacker adds gibberish using lots of different ip addresses, therefore it is not possible to stop him.

Estonian metapedia should not allow writing for not registered users, as all other metapedias do.

Also it would be nice, when the other flaws were fixed like adding reference to other metapedias, etc...

I saw, the intruder even destroyed your discussion page. :-(

At present my only idea is, you protect all pages. Hu1 06:30, 7 February 2010 (CST)

Editing without logging in is no longer possible in the Estonian Metapedia. Adalsyssler 16:27, 13 February 2010 (CST)

I'd like to provide for the Estonian Metapedia advertisement pictures, like Metapedia:Metapedia support here.

Is the text "Metapeedia Alternatiivne ensüklopeedia" what you want, or do you prefer something different? For the Hungarian one we have the text: "Metapedia, the consciously national encyclopedia".

I tried to write you in the Estonian metapedia, but your talk is protected. Hu1 08:06, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

My talk isn't protected, I guess you forgot to log in.
Thank you for support. Yes, Alternatiivne entsüklopeedia would be good enough. Adalsyssler 18:20, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Movie

The Soviet Story could be also interesting for you. Hu1 10:39, 7 September 2012 (CEST)

Welcome back!

I read your article on the Conservative People's Party of Estonia, and think it's great. I also noticed that before that you'd been away from (English) Metapedia for almost three years, and wanted to give a warm welcome along with the thanks. Julius A 00:16, 16 January 2014 (CET)

Thank you! I will try to keep my eye on here time to time, although political activism and studies take a lot of it. Adalsyssler 07:01, 16 January 2014 (CET)

Idel Jakobson picture

Do you know where you got this image? http://en.metapedia.org/wiki/File:IdelJakobson.jpg Is it a photo or painting? There's no information on it and a reverse google image source doesn't find it. Other photos of him in Wikipedia and Google image search for his name show a different look of him where his head is a thin shape instead of an inverted triangle shape as in your upload. This picture was used in Jüri Lina's documentary In the Shadow of Hermes. It is possible that it's mistaken, of course. Adalsyssler 11:46, 10 April 2014 (CEST)
