Flavius Theodoricus

Flavius Theodoricus (Also known as Theodoric the Great) was King of the Ostrogoths, King of Italy and reigned over the Visigoths.
Theodoric was born in 454 in Carnuntum, what is now known as Austria. During his youth he lived in Constantinople, in which he learned and studied Roman politics and military tactics. In 488, at age 31 he became King of the Ostrogoths and during his reign he had the Ostros burn down the synagogues in Ravenna and forced the town to rebuild them at their own cost. He was allied with the Franks,Vandals,and the Burgundians, mainly through his relatives marrying Kings of the other Germanic Tribes.
Theodoric died in 526.
