Trying to tidy up this page. There is absolutely no reliable evidence to suggest the Hamiltons were Normans. At the time they had a grant of the Lordship of Cadzow (at Hamilton, in Lanarkshire), in the 15th century, they were mere knights of obscure origins. Cicero 20:58, 21 May 2015 (CEST)
