This article sure is entertaining, but what about the encyclopedic value? These claims are pretty controversive and should definitely be backed up by sources. It should also be clear that the theories are theories and not undisputed truth. --Günther 20:54, 27 September 2007 (CEST)

This article is fully protected, too, like all articles on this site. Well I think the article should mention that Gypsy was named because people at once time mistakenly thought they came from Egypt instead of Iran. Also, I've heard gypsies don't like to be called that and want all these politically correct names like Roma people, Irish traveller, Gitano, but I suspect those names or more like subgroups of gypsy in that gypsy is the main type and the rest are the subtype. Also, while I'm not an expert on gypsy I know that they're supposed to do gypsy curses, at least in media, and when people sell newage/metaphysical and that sort of items, they often say they're "gypsy" and use the name "gypsy" as a selling point without any dislike for that word.
