Project Gutenberg (PG) is a project to digitize, archive, and distribute books and other public domain works. It was founded in 1971 by Michael Hart and is the oldest digital library. Project Gutenberg has over 21,000 works in its collection. Project Gutenberg is affiliated with many projects that are independent organizations which share the same ideals, and have been given permission to use the Project Gutenberg trademark.
