Latin America

The lost Inca ruins of Machu Pichu.
Latin America is a region of the Americas located south to Anglo-America. The term is used to group together all the countries in the American continent where a Romance language -i.e. derived from Latin-, such as Spanish, Portuguese and French has official or co-official status. Although some people may think this region is homogeneous in ethnic, cultural and linguistic terms, this assertion is far from being true. Latin America is one of the most diverse regions in the world.
