[edit] Porn on Wikipedia and Wikinfo
Wikipedia and Wikinfo both allow pornographic and sexual encyclopaedic articles on their website. Neither is family friendly or Western in this regard. What is the policy of Metapedia on this regard--does it allow for pornography? or is it a family-friendly site?WHEELER 23:50, 4 August 2007 (CEST) Is the site "open policy"?WHEELER 03:35, 5 August 2007 (CEST)
- Well I do not for sure, but do not see a need for such things on this site. I would most likely delete such images and articles. -- Doktor Faustus 5 August 2007
- I would dedicate myself more here if that was the case. I really don't want to work on any site that has pornographic and sexual stuff. I have been searching for a clean site and for a pro-European site. But I would like to know for sure. Does the founder of Metapedia agree?WHEELER 06:20, 5 August 2007 (CEST)

More links needed: Google statistics are too low, when writing an article, search for it on google and add as many websites as it is possible on it, so google statistics will increase! It's important to become notorious. Bh3u4m 16:45, 27 July 2007 (CEST)

[edit] Greetings from Wikislavia!
http://ru.volgota.com/ - we have a link to the Metapedia.
Wikislavia is free online encyclopedia.
It was founded by group of wiki-dissenters, exiled from Russian Wikipedia because of national and POV-persecutions.
Wikislavia has inclusionist policies and it includes not only articles, but also wikisources and learning courses.
The total amount of pages is more than 25 000 and it grows quickly (more than 2000 pages a day). Wikislavia contains pages in many Slavic and Turkic languages, not only Russian. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 08:02, 29 July 2007 (CEST)
- Hello Yaroslav Zolotaryov, a very nice see you here from Wikislavia. --Doktor Faustus 28 July 2007
- Thanks (M.1712) for changing content on Kinism and The Political Cesspool back after another troll-generated edit, M.1712, also for letting me know some of the how-tos. I am new to editing Wikis, and am still pretty steep in the learning curve. Laurel Loflund.

- The www.metapedia.org numbers are calculated from the database and Wikislavia is running on other servers, so it is not possible to add any exact numbers at the moment. We will include a link to Wikislavia on the new www.metapedia.org portal that we are currently working on. --Günther 22:34, 12 August 2007 (CEST)

[edit] Dutch wikipedia
In the Dutch wikipedia you first have to clik on the Show preview button before you can Save page; making the time to create a lot of articles longer then the time to rollback and delete an article. It might also be a good idea not allowing anyone to create stub articles or image-only-pages except admins. --M.1712
- The first idea would not hurt anything I always preview a page before I create the article. But I do not like the second idea, a wiki based site is ment to edited and added to. --Doktor Faustus 5 August 2007 2007

Are we going to get one so we can better communicate with each other, with perhaps language specific channels in the future. Any thoughts? --Romulasry 00:34, 7 August 2007 (CEST)
[edit] My 2 cent
I believe that this project is great ! However I have some suggestions:
pages are too few, unfortunately my english is too lame for contribute directly ! :(
wikipedia have a lot of pages that, once cleaned should be very good.
example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lothrop_Stoddard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_racism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_de_Gobineau http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miscegenation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Turner_Diaries http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Vanguard_(publication) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_Gliebe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Walker http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_supremacy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugène_Terre'Blanche http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apartheid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PW_Botha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Boer_War http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afrikaners http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbabwe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Mugabe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_purity http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics
how about just to clean and copy them ?
"clean and copy" from wikipedia would be a good policy for quickly populate metapedia
also just a little critics: the tagline "encyclopedia about culture, art, science, philosophy and politics." are a little misguiding: I bet that a lot of people, oterwise interested have just skipped the site, because they don't understand what is about. Something like "encyclopedia about culture, art, science, cultural and ethnical heritage" would be more attractive.
I also saw that trolls are a problem. typically the troll subscribe and vandalize a lot of pages before being kicked away. A final weapon against trolls would be a feature like "rollback all the page" in order to destroy all the troll work before kick him away. Also the troll picture it's too nice. Something more offensive should be more appropriate for deter trolls and vandals.
- It is alread being done, but do put this code {{Wikipedia}} of end of article with text from wikipedia. Feel free to do more. -Doktor Faustus
- We should create a template for articles that are newly copied from PC sources (such as Wikipedia) where the text isn't yet fully de-PC'd. Anyone got an idea for the template text? --Günther 17:57, 17 August 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Licensing and other issues
Hello, I like the look of this website and am interested in contributing, however I wonder if someone could clear a few things up. First, how are the pages licensed? Under the GFDL, which would allow copying from Wikipedia? Or public domain? Another question is whether the servers for Metapedia are located in a country with restrictive thought crime laws, which would restrict what could be written, and whether Metapedia could be brought down by legal means. I would look at the Swedish edition to see if there are answers to/discussions on these questions but I don't speak Swedish unfortunately. Hoder 20:09, 8 August 2007 (CEST) There was another thing. I think I can guess the POV of the site's owners, but it is not exactly specific. As on Wikipedia, a specific point of view, or centre of balance, can be pushed by the owner by various means, I was wondering how Metapedia plans to deal with contributors with differing viewpoints on certain issues. Hoder 20:12, 8 August 2007 (CEST)
- I have been going under the assumption Metapedia used the GFDL. A good amount of copying from Wikipedia has alread been done. See Metapedia:Help and and Metapedia:GFDL-- Doktor Faustus 8 August 2007
[edit] Image copyright tags
I made image copyright tags See Help:Contents
- {{image}} for Metapedia image. (no copyright information)
- {{PD image}} for Public domain image
- {{Wikipedia GNU image}} for GNU Wikipedia image
- {{fair use image}} for copyrighted fair use images.

[edit] Vandalism
When many pages are vandalized is there an automated way of undoing all of a vandal's edits or does each page have to be reverted one by one? Hoder 19:05, 11 August 2007 (CEST)
- I suggest to block all open proxies as Wikipedia does: [1] Bh3u4m 19:13, 11 August 2007 (CEST)
- I have taken some measures against vandalism now, including blocking of a lot of proxies. Remember that this is only a way to make it harder for the kids. They will eventually grow tired of it since it takes them much more time to register and edit the pages than it takes for us to ban them and revert their edits. --Günther 22:48, 12 August 2007 (CEST)

[edit] Dates
I notice that many articles from Wikipedia have the dates linked, e.g., January 1 1900, for example when giving life-spans. There are also categories like 1900 Deaths. I don't think either of these practices are necessary or desired. Hoder 13:47, 26 August 2007 (CEST)

[edit] StormWiki
It seems that Stormfront forum is trying to create a wiki: StormWiki project There's already a thread suggesting to collaborate with us there, StormWiki - Metapedia integration. We could collaborate with them. Bh3u4m 19:24, 8 September 2007 (CEST)
[edit] fr:Special:Recentchanges
The only active sysop remaining on the French wiki is back and has already destroyed 90% of the work done by Users while he was in holidays.
His attitude empties our metapedia: valuable contributors have gone and, while I was trying to argue with him about that, he gave me no answer and has blocked me indefinitely.
I was the top contributor in August and more than 90% of my edits are still present: I beg any stewart reading this to let me access a meta duplicated without those restrictive policies.
It could be named http://f3.metapedia.org instead of http://fr.metapedia.org and, if I'm given sysop rights in F3, I could restore and show that most entries deleted were correct ones. Briling 12:12, 26 September 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Stop copying from Wikipedia
I find it ok if someone copies articles from wikipedia and corrects them. But I find useless to copy a lot of them into Metapedia (e.g. Pizza or non political/ideological articles). Please stop copying! Bh3u4m 22:54, 30 September 2007 (CEST)
- I agree with you that articles like pizza are not suitable for Metapedia since there is no ideological content. However, I see nothing wrong with geographical, historical or political concepts or other social science related topics to be added. For example I added Atlanta, Georgia as an article and noted White flight from the city. I also think an article on Atlanta should be included in Metapedia if there was no White flight. I would like to know from you and others how broad or limited you think articles should be for Metapedia and when should we copy from Wikipedia?NatAll75 00:18, 1 October 2007 (CEST)
- I only copy from Wikipedia what I have the time or the inclination to edit. That's why you see me putting up a lot of stubs. I feel it's better to build a new article from a European POV than to copy a multicultural POV Wikipedia article wholesale.Scrivener 05:39, 27 April 2008 (CEST)
[edit] Understanding GFDL (GNU Free Documentation License)
I just wanted to check and see if I understand GFDL correctly. The way I understand it, if I copy a GFDL document from, say, Wikipedia, I can publish an altered form of the document so long as the original that I used is available. I have assumed that this means that since articles copied from Wikipedia can be found there in their original form, there is no need for me to first save a Wikipedia version of the document here before editing. Am I correct in this assumption, or should I be making sure an original Wikipedia document shows up in the editing history here? Scrivener 00:32, 2 May 2008 (CEST)
[edit] Google censors Metapedia!!!!! (Priority: Very Urgent)
Something must be done to stop Google's censorship of Metapedia articles. I reported something I found on Altermedia on Google page. There are more and more examples of pages whose likelihood to be found on Google is lowered. I suggest to send protest emails to Google. Bh3u4m 19:26, 6 November 2007 (CET)
- I think you might be overreacting? Surely wikipedia will naturally have a much higher pagerank by Google than Metapedia, simply by the fact that it is much more linked and well known. That your article would feature higher when it was on wikipedia than it does now on metapedia is similarly very natural.. Just my 2c Frawan 20:34, 6 November 2007 (CET)
- No, that's not the point, Frawan, there is evidence of Google censorship. For instance, once metapedia articles were found on google, e.g. when you looked for "Battlecry band" on Goolge, Metapedia's article was 4th, now the other sites you find are still the same, except for Metapedia's article which has disappeared. The same for many other issues reported on Altermedia, Google is hindering searchers to find Metapedia links! We should try to do something to get around the censorship! Bh3u4m 10:18, 7 November 2007 (CET)
- I'm noticing this, too. Our Weatherman article was something like #4 last week. Now it's #10, but only if I type in "Weatherman (organization)." If I don't type the exact name, it won't appear. This was not the case last week. Scrivener 05:34, 27 April 2008 (CEST)
- I noticed this, too. After I would create a new page, e.g. the page I made for Wotanorden, it would appear about #4 on google. The page for Aryan Culture Preservation even appeared at #1. Many articles enter in the top 10 results then disappear completely or go right down in ranking. Sometimes they come up a little again but mostly not. Is this down to google censorship? Antihen 15:11, 13 June 2008 (CEST)
[edit] Copyrighted material on Metapedia
The question I have is why?
I thought Metapedia was an open encyclopedia where any register user could create and edit articles providing they were not hostile to nationalist aspirations. Now I am finding articles from other web sites and previously published articles which I assume cannot be edited since they are copyrighted.
It is my position that copyrighted material and previously published works should not be substituted for articles on Metapedia. The one exception I have are articles from Wikipedia which can be used and modified, provided the proper citation is given.NatAll75 16:57, 8 December 2007 (CET)
- According to U.S. law using parts of copyrighted pages from other sites should be OK if they are not too long, their source is mentioned and they are used for educational/research purposes (it appears that the same logic is used on JewWatch). Those articles are on the average better than wikipedia copied articles, provide interesting information for Nationalists and are not just a list of facts. We should insist in collaborating with Western Voices World News, Novopress and Altermedia to share such information. Bh3u4m 00:20, 10 December 2007 (CET)
[edit] Quote of the Day
I really like the quotes on the front page, well done to whoever added them. Hoder 16:06, 1 January 2008 (CET)
- Thanks, but the name "Quote of the Day" is not correct, as they are not changing every day. Let's find another name (Furthermore, I think we should build an archive of quotations). Bh3u4m 18:10, 5 January 2008 (CET)

- A collection of quotations, eg: Quotations:Race

[edit] Metapedia rankings
Here is some information I found on Metapedia rankings for May. [2]
It is interesting to note that a lot of females have been visiting Metapedia. I think this is due to the popularity of the article Stanley Ann Dunham, Barack Obama’s mom. The article was receiving about 150 views a day but has declined since the Presidential primaries have ended. Several Obama related articles continue to be popular and are moving into the top ten in ranking. NatAll75 12:09, 21 June 2008 (CEST)
