James L. Farmer, Jr.

James L. Farmer, Jr. was Civil Rights agitator active in the 1950's and 1960's. Known for starting the negro organization, Congress of Racial Equality in 1941. During the course of his life, he was actively involved with the NAACP. In 1968 Farmer ran as a Republican for the United States Congress. He died in 1999.
