Gustav J. Elmer

Gustav J. Elmer was an officer in the German American Bund. Elmer was born September 12, 1891 at Rheine, Westphalia, Germany. He arrived in the United States in December 15, 1926 and became an American citizen in December 1934. He joined the Friends of the New Germany an early predecessor to the Bund in 1934 and became the National Treasurer of the organization around July 1937. He succeeded to the office of National Treasurer following the death of Richard Mettin in June 1939.
