Carl Woeppelmann was the West coast Deputy Leader of the German American Bund. In 1941 he replaced Herman Schwinn after Schwinn was denaturalized and lost his American citizenship.

He was born in Rodheim, Germany and came to the United States in 1921. He first settled in Cleveland, Ohio and later moved to California. He was a member of Friends of the New Germany and late the German American Bund. While a member of the Bund he joined their uniform division the Ordnungs Dienst (O.D.)

At the California investigative committee to look into subversive organizations he testified he was Deputy Leader "in name only" and the Bund no longer held meetings or maintained membership records.[1]
