Arthur Wellesley (Duke of Wellington) was a politician and Field Marshall during the Napoleonic Wars. Born in Dublin, Ireland in the year 1769. He was the first in the line of Duke of Wellington's. Born into a well to do family he enlisted in the English Army in 1787 and quickly rose up the ranks and commanded the famous 33rd Regiment of Foot Wellington's Redcoats during the Battle of Waterloo where his career was highlighted with the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte.
He died in 1852.
