Anita McCormick Blaine

Anita Eugenie McCormick Blaine (July 4, 1866 - February 12, 1954) was a wealthy American heiress and a supporter of leftist causes. She was the duaghter of Cyrus H. McCormick and the cousin of conservative publisher Robert McCormick.

She married Emmons Blaine on September 26, 1889.

In 1901 she made donations to the Francis W. Parker School founded by “progressive” educator Colonel Francis W. Parker.

In 1949 she financed the founding of the leftist paper The Daily Compass.

Shortly before her death she founded the New World Foundation.
