[edit] Biography
Andrew Schlafly is the son of Ms. Phyllis Schlafly, the founder of the Eagle Forum, and a minor character in modern conservative politics. His father was John Schlafly Sr., also an attorney. He has four siblings: John Jr., Roger, Liza and Anne.
He married Katharina Kosarek in 1984. They have two children, Phyllis and Andrew Schlafly Jr.
Schlafly graduated from Harvard Law School, and he clerked for a federal appellate judge in Washington D.C. Prior to that, he had an engineering degree from Princeton University. Mr. Schlafly files conservative briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court and appellate courts, and has also won a federal jury trial.
In 1992, Schlafly sought the Republican Party nomination for the House of Representatives, though he won only 11% of the vote. [1]
[edit] Homeschooling and Young Earth Creationism
A deep believer of homeschooling, Schlafly has personally taught 120 homeschool teenagers in a series of eight courses. As a volunteer he taught six online courses on Eagle Forum University, where over 9000 students are registered.
Schlafly is also a strong defender of Young Earth creationism, the literal interpretation of the Genesis account, where plants and animals were created directly by God in a mature functional state.
