American ethnic groups

American ethnic groups which populated the United States at the founding of the country were mostly European in origin. Before the arrival of the White man, there was a tribal native population which were called American Indians who migrated from Asia thousands of years ago. They largely became displaced due to war, disease and forced removal from there native lands. Also African Negroes were brought to the southern colonies as slaves.
